After Studying
Here are some useful resources to look up once you've finished your studies and gotten yourself a job.
- Income protection insurance to insure you keep getting paid even if you are unable to do your job.
- Property Investment to help you to grow your wealth through the property market.
Career Tools
If you are looking for a university course there are some excellent online tools that can help you determine areas you might be suited.
These tools are sort of like personality tests but go into much more detail. After completing such a test you will be presented with a list of courses/careers that might suit your personality and skill set. You might think that using such a method to determine your career is putting faith in computers a little too much. However, such tools are particularly accurate and often match up to the type of career you are looking for. For example, when I completed the tool it suggested that I be involved in computational finance. Interestingly enough, I work as an FX broker trading Forex Online. The second choice was as an archaeologist which was something I was interested at during University but never pursued. The 3rd choice was a financial advisor. Many of my friends work as financial advisors but that job mainly involves selling life insurance and Income Protection Australia.
Such tools specialise in career selection and career transition. One such tool is available at worklifegroup and it is a particularly good one if you are based in Australia. You can also contact a career advisor at a university to see what is available, but often using one of these online tools gives you a head start before you talk to such an advisor.
